Faith Matters

Why are we called, as a people of faith, to bear witness to the inherent worth and dignity of every person? As Unitarian Universalists prepare for a justice General Assembly in Arizona, our hearts turn and return to the unique ways that our own tradition guides us in building the beloved community. Join us for an exploration of the theological foundations of our unique offerings as a justice seeking movement.

The Rev. Sofia Betancourt, will preach. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Yale University in the departments of Religious Ethics and African American studies. Her work seeks to construct environmental ethics of liberation drawn from womanist and Latina feminist thought.

Unless specified otherwise, all events are located at the First Parish in Cambridge, 3 Church St., Cambridge, MA.

Contemplative Service

Join us 7:00 pm in the Barn Room for our Contemplative Service, which takes place on the fourth Wednesday of the month. At this candlelight service of readings, music of the heart, and sacred silence, we will claim a quiet space in our lives for reflection and rest. All are welcome.

The River of Loss

Some of us suffer cruel losses beyond understanding. Even the most fortunate of us experience inexorable losses that try our souls. How can we let go of what is most precious to us? Rev. Fred Small preaches.
